The actuator which manages power failures and tough situations
Remote Control has for 40 years manufactured high-quality actuators. Part of the challenges is to develop solutions for situations where extremely high demands are made on function and safety.
 
RCE-SR is an electro-hydraulic actuator with spring return. The actuator is operated by an electric motor.RCE-SR is also available in explosion-proof design and with manual override.The unit can be enclosed in a fire protection jacket which ensures faultless function for the actuator even in high temperatures. Tests show that the actuator will endure up to +250℃ for one hour.
 
High operational safety in tough conditions makes the RCE-SR perfectly suitable for fire damper operation. During power cuts, the valve is controlled by the return springs to quickly open or close.The uncomplicated design of RCE-SR makes it well-functioning unit with high operational safety and a minimum maintenance.

Howden Calidair in England， the selected supplier for a large tunnel project in Bangkok, has chosen RCE-SR for the operation of their fire damper.
 
The three most important factors in the specification were:
 
The actuator should be electric and have spring return as a safety function-i.e. open or close in case of a power loss.
 
The actuator should work at an ambient temperature of +250℃ for one hour.
 
The maximum running time from open to closed valve should be 10 or 20 seconds.
